PPR character mugs 2 color 0128

PHOTOS/JULIE ROBINSON ROBARDS These toby and character jugs have hats that form a pouring spout. Shown here (bottom row, from left) are a Royal Cauldon jug, measuring 4 inches tall with toby smoking a pipe and holding a mug; a tiny Devonmoor toby jug, the smallest in a graduated set of seven; Artone Staffordshire small toby; Lancaster Sandland, Dicken's, Mr. Micawaber character jug; a tiny Japanese jug; and an unmarked curly haired man with hat. Shown on the top row (from left) are a Cooper Clayton toby jug that was produced in 1955 as Characters by Sterling; and a Royal Doulton Parson Brown character jug, one of the first characters the company released in 1934, making it highly collectible and valued at $150.
