Press-Republican Archives Nurses walk the picket line outside Alice Hyde Hospital where 50 registered nurses at the went on strike after rejecting the hospital's two contract offers by votes of 48-0 and 45-3. The beds at the hospital were emptied, as patients were either discharged or transferred to hospitals in Plattsburgh, Saranac Lake, Potsdam and Burlington. (1987)
