She and her classmates are participating in a project called Special Steps for Special Olympics, keeping track of how many steps they take with pedometers and collecting donations from sponsors. The students raised the money for Special of Olympics of Clinton and Essex Counties and also learned about community service, social awareness, physical fitness and application of math skills to real life situations.
