New programs at Fort Ti gardens

TICONDEROGA —  Several new learning opportunities are available this summer for adults and children Fort Ticonderoga’s King’s Garden.

Learn about the history and care of the bearded iris from Aug. 18 to 29. New programs explore Sowing and Growing Favorite Perennials, through Aug. 4, and Divide and Conquer Daylilies, Aug. 4 to 15. The programs are on-going from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A new garden tour entitled “Breaking Ground: A Tour of the Historic Gardens” is offered daily at 11:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Children’s Garden tours are offered daily beginning at 11:45 am. 

The King’s Garden experience is included in Fort Ticonderoga general admission. For additional information about the King’s Garden and other programs, visit the Fort Ticonderoga website at or call 518-585-2821. The King’s Garden is open through Oct. 13 from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily.
