‘Dear Jane’ joins Quilt Show in St. Albans
ST. ALBANS, Vt. — The Franklin County Quilters Guild will host its 16th Annual Quilt Show on Saturday, April 5, and Sunday April 6, at the St. Albans City Hall at 100 North Main St.
This event is free and open to the public.
Quilt show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Show attendees have a chance to win a door prize and there will also be a silent auction of donated quilted pieces and quilt-related items that visitors can buy chances to win.
One of features in the 2014 quilt show will be “Dear Jane” mini quilts fashioned by guild members to meet a challenge to replicate blocks from a quilt that was designed by Vermonter Jane A. Stickle in 1863, a press release states.
Throughout the weekend, guild members and vendors will provide demonstrations of various quilting techniques. The show’s activities culminate with an awards ceremony Sunday afternoon for the Viewer’s Choice awards and Mayor’s Award, along with the raffle drawing for a queen-size quilt that will be on display throughout the weekend.
