Fair for veterans set for Wednesday
SARANAC LAKE — There will be a VA North Country Outreach VA Eligibility, Enrollment and Services Fair at the Saranac Lake Town Hall from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Representatives will be present to answer questions concerning enrollment/benefits, primary care, memory evaluations/dementia care, caregiver support, home-based primary care, homemaker home health aide program, palliative care, hospice care, women’s health, homeless veterans programs, Veterans Justice Outreach, diabetes care and Telehealth.

Relay for Life vendors wanted
PLATTSBURGH — Vendors are sought for the Purple Sunday Shopping Relay For Life Craft/Vendor Fair set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the City of Plattsburgh Recreation Center Gymnasium on the U.S. Oval, Plattsburgh.
All funds will benefit the 2014 Plattsburgh Relay For Life.

ADK Health offers weight-loss surgery info sessions
SARANAC LAKE — A series of free informational sessions for people considering weight-loss surgery will be held in November and December. Interested individuals are invited to attend one of these sessions hosted by the Bariatric (Weight Management) Program.
They are set for noon on Nov. 22, Dec. 6 and Dec. 20 in the Redfield Board Room at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

SARANAC LAKE — Board-certified and fellowship-trained anesthesiologist Dr. Byung Ho Lee now offers procedure-oriented pain-management services three days a week at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Lee cares for patients who have chronic and acute pain issues with a wide range of treatment options for conditions such as shingles, sciatic pain, low back pain and pain resulting from surgery or physical trauma.
He uses a non-narcotic approach through interventional procedures.

SafeTALK session helps raise suicidality alertness
LAKE PLACID — A safeTALK training session will take place from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the Adirondack Room at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid.
SafeTALK is a three-hour training that prepares anyone older than 15 to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first-aid resources.
The training is free but preregistration is required, with the deadline to respond Friday, Nov. 15. Space is limited to 32 participants.
