‘Tiki Torch’ Zumbathon fundraiser to be held

PLATTSBURGH — Zumba instructors Ashley Cousens and Autumn Love will be hosting the third-annual Tiki Torch Zumbathon on the Plattsburgh City Beach at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 28.

All proceeds will benefit the Max Moore Memorial Treehouse, a universally accessible treehouse slated to be built on the Saranac River Trail.

Participants are encouraged to dance in their bare feet or sneakers, on the sand, with tiki torches lining the dance floor perimeter. Smooth Moves and The Cabana Beach Bar will provide snacks, food, beverages and ice cream available for purchase. Both venues will donate some of the profits from the evening to the fundraiser event.

The event will also feature a special guest: Zumba education specialist Jaime Farfan, who is coming off of a three-week trip in Indonesia and Asia, traveling and providing Zumba trainings and classes. After the Zumbathon, Farfan will stick around to offer a Zumba Fitness Masterclass to the community at noon Sunday, June 29, at the City Gym on US Oval.

Admission to the Zumbathon event is $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
