Improve strength, quality of life through ‘Bone Builders’ classes

SARANAC LAKE — Adirondack Health has announced it is offering “Bone Builders,” a 12-week class specifically designed to improve muscular and bone strength, and reduce the risk of injury due to weakening and lessening bone density.

Participants will learn about bone density, osteoporosis, nutrition and activities to improve quality of life through improved strength and balance. The 12-week program features classes twice per week for 60 minutes at Adirondack Health’s Fit for Life location in Saranac Lake.

Cost for the program is $45 per month.

New general surgeon joins CVPH medical staff

PLATTSBURGH — Kathryn Giroux, M.D., general surgeon, has joined the CVPH Medical Staff.

Giroux is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed her general surgery residency at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, Pa. Her office, Associates in General Surgery, is located at 214 Cornelia St., Suite 102 (561-6410).  Giroux joins Drs. John McCauliffe and Lisa Mark in providing a wide range of general surgical and laproscopic services.
