Support group for nursing moms meets

PLATTSBURGH — La Leche League, a breast-feeding information and support group, meets at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Family Connections on U.S. Oval.

The group, which is for all women, meets the first Monday of every month. Babies are also welcome.

Story hour celebrates apple season

CHAZY — With the fall season approaching, it’s time once again for apple picking.

The Chazy Public Library will host Story Time from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, while giving attendees the chance to taste the different apples grown in Chazy.

Children ages 3 to 8 can listen to stories about apple trees and harvesting during the fall season while enjoying fresh-picked apples. Kids will also receive a small bag of apples to share at home.

Farm offering fun family events

PLATTSBURGH — Country Dreams Farm will be open for a corn maze, pumpkin patch and horse-drawn wagon rides from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.

At dusk, author and well-known area radio personality Gordie Little will tell ghost stories around a bonfire. He will have books to sign and sell.
