PLATTSBURGH — The Foundation of CVPH is sponsoring the parent workshop “Raising Resilient Girls” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in Hudson Hall on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus.
The workshop is associated with the fourth-annual Shine On Conference planned for Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27.
Topics of discussion will include “Healthy Eating for Busy Families on the Go,” “How to Talk to Your Daughter About Her Body and Boys” and “Social Media Awareness.”
The workshop is open to all. Registration in advance can be done online at shineongirls.org. Walk-ins will also be accepted.
Bookstore Plus plans Saturday Storytime
LAKE PLACID — The Bookstore Plus book club will host Second Saturday Storytime at 10 a.m. April 12.
The storytime will celebrate Easter with stories and an Easter Egg Hunt.

Adirondack Community Action Programs schedules child-care training
ELIZABETHTOWN — The Adirondack Community Action Programs Inc. of Essex County will be offering child-care trainings throughout April at the ACAP office in Elizabethtown.
Trainings are at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise stated.
The first session is set for April 1 and will focus on running the finances of your business, including how to set fees that project and track costs and profits of your business. Lisa Zmijewski is the speaker.
On April 10, the state licensor will be on hand to talk about the new regulations for family and group family day care.
Training on April 15 will include policies and procedures. Learn why you need them, how to develop them and how to present them. Zmijewski is the speaker.
April 23 will feature “For Sleep Sake” by Sarah Gould-Houde, with strategies to help infants and children transition in and out of sleep, and self-regulation and its important role in the development of self control and approaches to help children develop this skill.
