Blessing service set
ST. REGIS FALLS — St. Francis Regis Council 7321 of the Knights of Columbus invites all to join the Rev. John Downs at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 for a nativity scene blessing service at St. Ann's Church in St. Regis Falls.

Refreshments will be served in the church hall after the service.

Retreat to focus on Advent
ELLENBURG CENTER — A retreat called "Make Your Home in Me, as I Make Mine in you — an Advent Journey" will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Our Lady of the Adirondacks House of Prayer, Ellenburg Center.

The Rev. Roger McGuinness, a press release said, "will help us prepare and open our hearts to examine the desire of Jesus to be born into us as we live in anticipation of being born fully into Him."

The event will be a day of reflection on the mystery and wonder of the Incarnation, with anticipated Mass, Reconciliation and meditation time included.

Lunch will be provided. RSVP by Dec. 3 by calling 594-3253.



Give Back Day planned
MALONE — St. Mark's Episcopal Church will hold its third-annual Give Back Day on Saturday, Dec. 5, in the Parish Hall, 34 Elm St., Malone.

The day will include a free pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be there from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each child will receive a small gift from Santa, who will pose for photos with children who bring a canned good. All donations received will be used in the area holiday baskets. Also, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., crafts and games will be played with prizes awarded.

The public is invited to this event as it is held to give back to the community for all the help and support received during the year.

Memory Tree ribbons available
LYON MOUNTAIN — Holy Family Council 7215, Knights of Columbus, Lyon Mountain, seeks supporters of its annual Memory Tree for the Christmas season.

Ribbons may be purchased for $1 each in memory of loved ones by contacting Robert Pageau at 735-4745 or Bernard Grogan at 735-4353.

Tree lighting will be Dec. 5 at the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain.

Weekly prayer services set for Advent
CHAMPLAIN — Christ & St. John's Episcopal Church, 18 Butternut St., will hold Evening Prayer at 7 p.m. Wednesday evenings Dec. 2 through 23. The half-hour services are conducted by the lay eucharistic ministers of the Champlain parish and, said a press release, "are an opportunity to come in from the cold, dark and chaotic world and into a warm, light and peaceful time of reverence as we prepare for the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

All are welcome.
