Methodist Church offers many programs

WILMINGTON -- Whiteface Community United Methodist Church celebrates Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m., followed by a time for coffee and fellowship. Pastor Joyce Bryson invites summer visitors to participate, noting there is child care for youngsters up to age 7 during the service. The office of the Wilmington Church, which is located at Route 86 and Haselton Road, is open from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Riverside Thrift Shop, located in the Methodist Barn, is a ministry that is open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday. Call 946-2922 with questions concerning the shop. The Ecumenical Emergency Food Shelf and Outreach Program are located in the Rubin Sanford Building next to the church and are open Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m. For information about the fuel-assistance program, call the church office at 946-7757. The Senior Lunch Program is held Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone 946-2922, daytime only, about that program.

Early morning services open to all

MOOERS -- From 6:30 to about 7 a.m. Wednesdays this summer -- July 16, July 23 and Aug. 6 -- the Mooers United Methodist Church will host "a morning time with God" at Bob & Cora's Gazebo at 2382 Route 11 in Mooers. The services will include a song of praise, prayer for one another and the celebration of Holy Communion. All followers of Jesus regardless of any (or no church) affiliation are invited to the gathering and all Masses in the United Methodist Church.
