Summer schedule set at First Congregational
MALONE -- First Congregational Church in Malone has set its summer Sunday schedule. Adult study is at 9 a.m. followed by morning worship at 10 and coffee hour at 11:15 a.m. Nursery services are available during the service.
St. Anne's Shrine Reflection Series' continues
ISLE LaMOTTE, Vt. -- St. Anne's Shrine in Isle La Motte is offering the "Reflection Series" programming again this season. On July 9 the series offers a program called "Praying with the Saints;" July 16, "God's Unending Love;" July 23, "The Blessed Virgin Mary of Islam;" July 31, "Deepening our Relationship with God;" Aug. 6, "Our Lady of Guadalupe;" Aug. 12, "Finding God at Home;" Aug. 19, "Sacred Signs and Active Participation at Mass;" and Aug. 27 with "The Quest for Personal Holiness." All programs begin with a Mass at 11:15 a.m. followed by lunch and a 1 p.m. presentation. Reservations are appreciated. St. Anne's Shrine will also host St. Peter's Church Choir from Plattsburgh on Sunday, July 6, for the 9 a.m. Mass and the Madrigal Choir from Quebec for the 10:30 a.m. Mass under the direction of organist George Schnob. The annual Jazz Night at St. Anne's Shrine will feature Jerome Monachino and Picture This at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 12, by donation.
Look Up Ministries to host Family Rally
LAKE PLACID -- Look Up Ministries of the North Country will host an interdenominational Christian Family Rally from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 18, on the front lawn of Adirondack Community Church, across from the Lake Placid Post Office. Men, women and children from throughout the region are invited to share testimonies in word and song about what the Lord is doing throughout the North Country.
Friends Forever seeks car donations
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- Friends Forever, a program bringing Protestant and Catholic teens from Northern Ireland and Jewish and Arab teens from Jerusalem, is starting a new program asking for car donations. Friends Forever is entering its 22nd year. More than 1,000 teens have been involved in the program, which puts emphasis on their getting to know each other during a two-week visit to America. All the funds needed to underwrite the program come from the generosity of individuals, clubs and grants, according to a news release. The cars will be sold at an auction, and the proceeds will help Friends Forever to continue and expand its program. To contribute a car or get information about the program call (800) 436-9939.
