Speaker, meal to fill mind and hunger at Methodist Church
MOOERS -- Christopher Badger will be the guest speaker at a free men's breakfast hosted by the Mooers United Methodist Church at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church in Mooers. Busloads of diners should make reservations by calling 236-7129 or e-mailing mooersumc@yahoo.com before 7 p.m.
Dance Troupe chosen to perform at national conference
PLATTSBURGH -- The Adirondack Liturgical Dance Troupe will be dancing at the opening worship service at the United Methodist General Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 23. This conference is held every four years in different locales and involves bishops and lay people from around the world. The conference decides policies for the next four years for the church. Delegates are sent to represent the different districts. The Dance Troupe was chosen from an audition video to participate.
The troupe is comprised of dancers from the age of 12 to 21 who have danced at nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, "The Night of Giving" at the Champlain Centre mall in Plattsburgh, area churches and for the North Country Cultural Center for the Art's Women's Gala.
