Coupons available for farmers markets

PLATTSBURGH — Farmers Market Coupons are available for those 60 and older.

A $20 booklet can be picked up at local offices for the aging.

New income guidelines are as follows: must be below $1,772 per month for one person or $2,333 per month for two people.

The coupons may be used through Nov. 15, but check for local market closing dates.

Senior trip to

fair offered

ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. — The Town of Plattsburgh is sponsoring a trip to the Champlain Valley Fair in Essex Junction on Wednesday, Aug. 29.

The day program is open first to any Town of Plattsburgh senior citizen and then to all other Clinton County senior citizens if space is available.

The town will provide the school bus, with each senior responsible for paying $15, which includes the admission to the fair and cost of the ferry ride.

The bus will leave the mall parking lot in front of Sears at 11:30 a.m. The group will leave the fair at 6:30 p.m. and return to Plattsburgh.

Preregistration and payment are mandatory before Wednesday, Aug. 22. Register by calling 562-6860 or stopping by the Recreation Office between 8 a.m. and 4p.m. weekdays.

Busy B’s planning trip to Saratoga

SARATOGA — The Beekmantown Senior Citizens Busy B’s are planning a trip to Saratoga on Monday, Aug. 20, to see the horse races.

The bus will leave the town hall at 8:30 a.m. and stop for lunch before the races. Seniors should bring their own lunch. Those wishing to visit the casino will be dropped off before the races.

Cost for members is $32 and $48 for guests. The price includes general admission, reserved grandstand seats and dinner afterward at the Golden Corral.

party set

PLATTSBURGH — Meadowbrook Healthcare is hosting its annual block party from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at its 154 North Prospect Ave. location.
