Council meeting to feature CVPH financial services director Monday

PLATTSBURGH — The Computer Club at the Senior Citizen Council will offer a presentation by CVPH representatives at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, at the Senior Center in Plattsburgh.

Kathy Peterson, CVPH director of financial services, will speak on preregistration and paying hospital bills online; new Health Exchange products; and online bill paying.

Class to cover basic computer skills

PLATTSBURGH — The Senior Citizens Center in Plattsburgh is hosting a computer class for beginners.

Instructor Len Wood will cover the basics, from 9 to 11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays for 8 weeks beginning Monday, May 5.

The classroom has laptop and desktop computers with XP, Vista, Windows 7 and one with Windows 8. There is room to accommodate more than 30 people.

A $1 donation is encouraged for each class, which is given to the Senior Center.

Membership to Senior Citizens or the Computer Club is not required.

Castaways announce April schedule

PLATTSBURGH — The Castaways have released their gig schedule for April.

Performances are as follows: 10:30 a.m. April 7, Clinton County Nursing Home, Flynn Avenue, Plattsburgh, (563-0950); 2 p.m. April 8, Neighborhood House, Main Street, Keene Valley (576-4474); 7 to 10 p.m. April 12, Mr. Lynn Wilke’s Opus, Peru Central School (561-7748); 10:30 a.m. April 14, Evergreen Valley Nursing Home, 8 Bushey Blvd., Plattsburgh (563-0950); 5 to 8 p.m. April 15, Westside Ballroom, New York Road, Plattsburgh (561-5360); 6 to 9 p.m. April 19, Coffee House, Main Street, Hemmingford, Quebec (450-8732); 3:30 p.m. April 25, Pine Harbour Assisted Living, 15 New Hampshire Road, Plattsburgh (561-5307).

Franklin County Senior Citizens plan Spring Festival

MALONE — The Association of Senior Citizens in Franklin County, Inc., sponsored by the Office for the Aging, is inviting all seniors to attend its Spring Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 9, at the Mohawk Casino.

The festival will include a meal, raffle and an apparel contest. Meal selections include roast turkey with dressing and gravy or baked ham with rum raisin sauce. Each meal includes a salad, dinner roll, roasted potatoes and vegetable, coffee, tea and/or soda with the chef’s choice of dessert.

The contest will offer prizes for hats, bowties, ties and/or outfits.

The cost is $10 per person.

Reservations are required by April 25 and can be made at any the association’s eight Adult Centers, the St. Regis Mohawk Adult Center or the FC Association of Senior Citizens Office at 125 Catherine St., Malone.
