YMCA hosting Kids Night Out today

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh YMCA, at the corner of Brinkerhoff and Oak streets, is hosting Kids Night Out with a “Pirates Adventure” theme from 5 to 8:30 p.m. today.

The children will be able to use the YMCA’s climbing wall with the trained YMCA staff. The evening also includes pizza, swimming, group games, gym games and a pirate craft. The activities will be supervised by staff from the Y’s Time before- and after-school program.

The cost is $15 per child ($12 for YMCA members) and is limited to the first 75 children.

Doctor to discuss Spinal Cord Stimulators

PLATTSBURGH — Champlain Spine and Pain Management at 4 Feathers Drive will be holding a free educational event from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 7.

Dr. Thierry Bonnabesse will talk about Spinal Cord Stimulators, which are used for chronic back pain, neck pain, pinched nerves, neuropathies and more.

‘Second Saturday Storytime’ May 11 in Lake Placid

LAKE PLACID — The Bookstore Plus, 2491 Main St., will host its “Second Saturday Storytime” at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11.

The group will celebrate “The Cat in the Hat,” with stories and a craft.

Child safety-seat check planned

PLATTSBURGH — A child safety-seat check will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, next to Gander Mountain at the Champlain Centre Mall.

The event is sponsored by Clinton County Traffic Safety, Morrisonville EMS and Safe Kids Adirondack.

MayFaire Festival coming up May 11

SARANAC LAKE — The Northern Lights School MayFaire Festival is at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Adirondack Carousel, 2 Depot St.

The event will feature a silent auction with handmade and donated items. Bluseed Studio’s Carol Vossler will host a community art project. There will also be kids crafts and the annual May Pole dance. Catered food will be available from Green Goddess. Josh Bakelaar and Phil Henry and Friends will perform.

The cost is $5 per person or $20 per family, and includes three carousel rides.
