Church’s summer festival starts today
KEESEVILLE — The Keeseville Methodist Church at 1691 Front St. will hold its annual summer festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
A variety of activities are planned.
Latter-day Saints offer addiction-recovery program
PLATTSBURGH — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 26 Dennis Ave. is offering an addiction-recovery program from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday.
The 12-step program incorporates gospel principles and fosters recovery and healing, according to a press release.
The program is free and open to the public.

Mission Center holding bag sale
CHAMPLAIN — St. Mary’s Mission Center at 88 Oak St. is having a bag sale from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 30; 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1; and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 3.
The center will supply 13-gallon kitchen garbage bags, which patrons can fill with gently used adult, kids’ and teen clothing and shoes. The cost is $8.

Baptist Church hosting vacation Bible school
PLATTSBURGH — Bread of Life Baptist Church will be conducting a unique vacation Bible school this year with a team of adults and teens from Shady Grove Baptist Church of Pickens, S.C.
The school’s theme is “Creation to Christ,” and sessions will be offered for each age category from adults to Pre-K. Parents will know what their children are learning and be able to talk together about it because they will be learning the same thing at an adult level.
The sessions are from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, July 28 through 31, at the church’s 792 Military Turnpike location.
The visiting team from Shady Grove Baptist Church will be led by the Rev. Matt Danuser, pastor. The group will teach and conduct the special activities each night, as well as conduct surveys concerning individual spiritual issues and interests during the day.
