Town sponsoring trip to Franklin County Fair

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh is sponsoring a trip to the Franklin County Fair in Malone on Friday, Aug. 9. 

The day program is open first to any Town of Plattsburgh senior citizen and then to all other Clinton County senior citizens if space is available. 

The town will provide the school bus, with each senior responsible for paying $20, which includes admission to the fair. The bus will leave the Champlain Centre mall parking lot in front of Sears at 3 p.m. The group will leave the fair after the Vince Gill concert and return to Plattsburgh.

Preregistration and prepayment are mandatory before Monday, Aug. 5. Those interested may register by visiting the Recreation Office or by calling 562-6860. Spaces will be filled on a first-come, first serve basis.

Senior citizens picnic planned 

PORT HENRY — The Moriah Nutrition Site will be hosting a senior citizens picnic at the Bulwagga Bay Campground’s pavilion in Port Henry at noon Monday, Aug. 5, rain or shine.

All Town of Moriah senior citizens are welcome to attend. Call the Nutrition Site at 546-7941 before Monday, July 29, to make a reservation. 

A donation of $3.50 is requested for seniors 60 years old and over or $6 for non-seniors. 

The Moriah Senior Citizens Club will host their monthly meeting after the picnic, and all seniors are welcome to attend.
