BHSN has new psychiatrist on staff

PLATTSBURGH — Behavioral Health Services North has added psychiatrist Dr. Stanley Poreba to its staff in the Adult Services programs located at the Center for Well-being on Route 22B in Morrisonville.

Poreba did his psychiatry residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, has since worked on a number of inpatient units, has been both a staff psychiatrist and medical director at several community mental-health centers and most recently was the interim medical director at Adirondack Medical Center and the medical director at Cayuga County Mental Health Care in Auburn.

General surgeon joins CVPH staff

PLATTSBURGH — Dr. Kathryn Giroux, general surgeon, has joined the CVPH Medical Center staff.

Giroux is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia.

She completed her general surgery residency at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, Pa.

Her office, Associates in General Surgery, is located at 214 Cornelia St., Suite 102, phone 561-6410.

Giroux joins Dr. John McCauliffe and Dr. Lisa Mark in providing a range of general surgical and laproscopic services.
