The Adirondack Community Trust has announced that Carrie K. Gregory of Morrisonville is the recipient of the $10,000 Dr. U.R. Plante Medical Scholarship. Gregory will go into her third year this fall at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She is a graduate of Seton Catholic High School.

Alex J. Dillenberger of AuSable Forks has been cited for academic achievement for the spring 2008 semester at the State University of New York College of Technology at Delhi. Dillenberger, a golf course management-superintendent major, has qualified for the Honors List.

The family of the late Dean Benson Sr. has announced the winners of the 2008 Dean Benson Memorial Scholarship awards. The following Section 7 students/athletes will each receive $500: Moriah Williams, Schroon Lake Central School; David Andrews, Long Lake Central School; Lindsey Keyser, AuSable Valley Central School; Lee Berube, Ticonderoga Central School; Danielle Tierney, Northeastern Central School; and Tyler Hoey, Peru Central School.

Darren McGreevy, son of Paula and Bill McGreevy of Wilmington, has been awarded the John Zachay Memorial Scholarship for 2008. McGreevy, who is a resident of Wilmington, graduated from Lake Placid High School in June. He will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the fall and plans to study engineering. Throughout high school he was active in the National Honor Society, Lambda Pi, Key Club, soccer, baseball and band.

Clinton Community College student Jonathan Seiden is the recipient of the 2008 New York State Sheriffs' Association Annual Scholarship. The $500 criminal-justice scholarship was presented to Seiden by David Favro, Clinton County sheriff, at a luncheon held in his honor.

Seiden graduated at the top of his class in May with a degree in criminal justice. He was the recipient of the 2008 Mildred P. Kelly Memorial Award for Excellence in Criminal Justice Academics. During his final semester, Seiden completed a field practicum internship with the City of Plattsburgh Police Department, receiving high evaluations from his supervisors there.

Seiden is a City of Plattsburgh resident and the son of John and Bucky Seiden, also of Plattsburgh.
