Army Pfc. Jonathan R. Talbott, son of Aimee Crouse of Piercefield and Diana Gaff of Tupper Lake, is a member of the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division based at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, who has deployed to Camp Taji, Iraq.

Army Pfc. Timmy J. Atkinson Jr., son of Pamela Atkinson of Saranac and nephew of Barb and Patrick Moriarty of Fairfield, Conn., has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Army Spec. Andrew M. Burch, son of Ricky and Melissa Burch of Vermontville, has returned to Alaska after being deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Burch, a military policeman, has been decorated with the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge.

Marine Corps Pvt. Tyler J. Rasco, son of Mary Edwards of Plattsburgh and Glen Rasco of Plattsburgh has completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.
