'This is 40' fits that demographic just right

(Continued)

Megan Fox and Charlyne Yi (“House”) have some amusing moments as Debbie’s questionably effective employees, while Melissa McCarthy (“Bridesmaids”) appears only briefly, as the parent of a boy who crosses young Sadie, but boasts one of the film’s most hilarious scenes.

“This is 40” doesn’t have much of a narrative, it’s a little messy and runs a bit too long. Its target audience will be able to relate to it completely, however, and will leave the theater laughing.

Rental Recommendation: For a romantic comedy with absolutely no feel-good moments, try “War of the Roses.” Grade: B-plus.
