Costume Workshop set for Saturday

PLATTSBURGH — The Kent-Delord House Museum, 17 Cumberland Ave., is hosting a Costume Workshop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.

The public is invited to come and learn about how to make a 19th century-style dress. Sharon Bell will be hosting the workshop to provide tips and resources for those interested in reenacting clothing.

Admission is $3.

Costume rental to benefit arts program

SARANAC LAKE — Pendragon Theatre is holding a costume rental event from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at its 15 Brandy Brook Ave. location.

The public is invited to come and rummage through the theater’s extensive costume selection and find a fantastic costume. 

All proceeds from the event help fund Pendragon’s Arts in Education program.

Transportation Museum halting tours

PLATTSBURGH — The Champlain Valley Transportation Museum will be closed for tours during the winter, starting Thursday, Nov. 1.

The administrative office will remain open throughout the year. The museum will reopen for tours on April 2, 2013.

During this period, new exhibits will be installed and existing exhibits will be updated. Although the museum will be closed for tours, CVTM and Kids’ Station will still hold interactive, fun family events all winter long. Winner named in 2nd round of ARTWays

PLATTSBURGH — Amy Guglielmo of Plattsburgh has been named the winner of the latest Adirondack Coast ARTWays Project.

Focused on the region’s deep ties to agriculture, 21 entries were submitted and one winner chosen in the second round called “Adirondack Coast Harvest.”

Guglielmo’s artwork, entitled “Adirondack Harvest,” took first place.

Reproductions of Guglielmo’s artwork are already available on posters that can be purchased at the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts and the North Country Chamber of Commerce.
