NCCCA open house Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Cultural Center for the Arts is holding an open house at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at its 23 Brinkerhoff St. location.

Participants will be treated to an arts activity, Stewart’s ice cream and will have the opportunity to meet several of the artists who will be teaching classes this fall. Organizers will also be taking registrations and new memberships.

New museum opens Saturday

KEESEVILLE — The Anderson Falls Heritage Society Museum at 96 Clinton St. will hold its Grand Opening at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is at 10 a.m. A tour of the museum and refreshments will follow.

The museum is comprised of collections of local history and artifacts from the area. The Anderson Falls Heritage Society was founded in 1980 and chartered in 1989.

The museum hours will be Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or by appointment. For questions, call Betty Brelia at 834-7138 or June Venette at 834-9811.

Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.

Free drawing workshop offered for seniors

UPPER JAY — Starting Friday, Sept. 28, the Wells Memorial Library, 12230 Route 9N, will hold a 10-week Observational Drawing workshop for those 55 years old and older.

“Creative Aging in New York State Libraries: A Regional Model with National Applicability” is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, with additional support from the Helen Andrus Benedict Foundation. It is administered in partnership with Westchester Library System, Lifetime Arts Inc. and American Library Association’s Public Programs Office. 

Improv comedy workshop set

LAKE PLACID — Community Theatre Players Inc. is presenting an improv comedy workshop for adults and teens on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts Annex Building.
