Montreal concerts show great variety

---- — MONTREAL — The perfect stocking stuffer? How about a live concert performance on the Montreal stage.

Here are a few ways to spread some holiday cheer:

As of press time earlier this week, there were still some tickets left for an added Leonard Cohen show tonight at the Bell Centre. Tickets range from $40 to $267.

The Bell Centre literally goes to the dogs with Cesar Millan Live on Dec. 2. Tickets range from $37 to $113.

Canadian songstress Loreena McKennitt performs at Place des Art Dec 6 and 7. Tickets range from $52 to $82. At 175 Ste. Catherine St. W.

The DJ duo Keys N Krates perform at Le Belmont sur le Boulevard Dec. 7. Tickets cost $16.50. At 4483 Str. Laurent Blvd.

The Distant Worlds Philharmonic presents “Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy,” a symphonic program of orchestral music, vocals, instrumentals, and a bit of high-def video of selections from the 25-year-old popular video game. On Dec. 8 at Place des Arts. Tickets range from $59 to $8.

Comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham and his gang of caustically funny dummies play a date at the Bell Centre Dec. 9. Tickets cost $76.

“Billy Elliot: The Musical,” the Elton John-penned Tony Award-winning Broadway smash, comes to Place des Arts Jan 8 through 13. Tickets range from $31 to $87.

Written and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, “La Verità” combines art and acrobatics to theatrically explore the life and work of artist Salvador Dali. At Place des Art Jan. 17 through Feb. 3. Tickets cost $37.50 to $67.50.

Nelly Furtado plays Theatre St. Denis Jan. 30. At 1594 St. Denis St. Tickets range from $46 to $81.

Queen Extravaganza covers the rock band Queen at the Bell Centre Jan. 30. Tickets cost $57 and $72.

British vocalist Sarah Brightman plays the Bell Centre Feb. 1. Tickets range from $78 to $198.

Dead Kennedys play the Corona Theatre Feb. 9. At 2490 Notre Dame West. Tickets cost $27.

Zappa Plays Zappa, that’s son Dweezil playing dad Frank, is performed at the Corona Theatre Feb. 10. Tickets range from $40 to $75.

Lady Gaga presents The Born This Way Ball at the Bell Centre Feb. 11. Tickets range from $64 to $192.

Bon Jovi plays the Bell Centre Feb. 13 and 14. Tickets range from $29 to $177.

Passion Pit brings their indy stylings to Metropolis Feb. 15. Matt & Kim open. At 59 St. Catherine St. E. Tickets cost $37.

Maroon 5 plays the Bell Centre Feb. 20. Tickets range from $41 to $104.

The PBS fave Celtic Woman is presented at Place des Art Feb. 25. Tickets range from $58 to $108.

Swedish House Mafia plays the Bell Centre Feb. 27. Tickets cost $53 to $140.

Disney on Ice: Rockin’ Ever After presents two family shows in English March 7 and 10. Tickets range from $25 to $103.

Pink brings her soulful pop artistry to the Bell Centre March 12 with The Hives opening. Tickets range from $54 to $114.

Pop diva Rihanna plays the Bell Centre March 17. Tickets range from $49 to $165.

Randy Bachman of BTO Bachman Turner Overdrive fame plays the Corona Theatre March 19. Tickets cost $61 and $76.

Nancy and Ann Wilson, aka the ‘80s rocker duo Heart, play the Bell Centre March 25. Tickets cost $84 and $99.

Sigur Ros, the innovative Icelandic indy band, plays the Bell Centre Mach 27. Tickets cost $50 and $65.
