Plattsburgh State Art Museum presents Girl Scout Day

PLATTSBURGH — Girl Scout troops are invited to the Plattsburgh State Art Museum for “Girl Scout Day” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus.

The programs begin with a guided tour of the museum and are followed by hands-on art workshops on painting. These workshops are designed to coincide with and fulfill badge requirements. The program does not include badges.

Registration is free. Reservations can be made by emailing sbell008@plattsburgh.edu or calling 564-2498. Reservations are required and should be made by April 28. Note that reservations are booked by troops, not individual scouts.

ROTA Gallerycalls for art

PLATTSBURGH — Rota Gallery and Studios is planning an art exhibition for elementary, middle school and high school students.

Any student is eligible to participate.

Artwork may be in any medium, framed or unframed. All artwork should have the name of the piece and artist on the front or back of the art, and be accompanied by a submission form that will be provided at the time of drop-off.

Students with an active youth membership may submit an unlimited number of pieces to the show at no cost. Students without a youth membership may submit an unlimited number of pieces at a rate of $3 to $10 per piece.

Drop-off dates for the exhibition are May 5 through 21 at the ROTA Gallery, 50 Margaret St., Plattsburgh. The opening reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. May 24. Art will be on display from May 24 through June 9.

Adirondack Singers plan Spring Concert

TUPPER LAKE — The Adirondack Singers will play their annual Spring Concert for two shows, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Holy Name Church in Tupper Lake, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake.

Musical director Karen Butters put together a program of popular favorites dubbed “Rock, Roll and Remember.”
