Tahawus Center offering activities for youth

AuSABLE FORKS — The Tahawus Center for Learning is offering a number of activities this summer at its 14234 Main St. location.

Dance classes include “Gentle Ballet Barre,” “Swing Dance” and “Early Childhood Creative Movement.” The classes are planned from July 1 through 3, July 15 through 18 and Aug. 5 through 15. Instructors are from Rebecca Kelly Ballet and Kids Co-Motion. Most classes are conducted for mixed ages and experience.

“Science Lab Camp For Youth” is planned for mornings from July 15 through 18. Gary Dreiblatt, a teacher of 26 years, will instruct students ages 8 to 14 as “young scientists use professional instruments and build their own equipment to discover the small, the large, and the invisible worlds we inhabit,” according to a press release.

Additional classes will be offered in August.

Details on each class are available on the TLC website, www.TahawusCenter.org, or by calling (646) 734-7151. Some scholarship aid is available for workshop participation. All classes are subject to enrollment.

The sessions will run from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays, June 29 and Aug. 3. Participants can sign up for one or both classes. The cost, which includes all supplies, is $10 per session.
