Local author to sign books at Corner-Stone Bookshop

PLATTSBURGH — Malone native John Sparks, author of “Unearthly Tales from Space,” is scheduled for a book-signing event at Corner-Stone Bookshop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec 7.

Arts Council Gallery open in Malone

MALONE — North of Adirondack Arts Council Gallery at 465 East Main St., Malone, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The gallery shows the works of 23 local artists, changing the works monthly.

Linda Gertsch exhibit slated at Artists Guild

SARANAC LAKE — “Adirondack Christmas,” an exhibit and sale of jewelry and other small objects by Linda Gertsch, will open Friday, Dec. 6, at the Adirondack Artists Guild, 52 Main St., Saranac Lake.

The opening reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be served.

The show runs through Jan. 5.

Champlain Valley Voices Holiday Concert set for Dec. 7

PLATTSBURGH — A holiday concert including A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten and Dona Nobis Pacem by R. Vaughan Williams is slated for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Plattsburgh United Methodist Church, 127 Beekman St.

Tickets are available at the door and in advance at Corner-Stone Bookshop and General Trading Company. Prices are: general $12 in advance, $15 at the door; seniors $10 in advance and $12 at the door; non-SUNY Plattsburgh students and children $8; SUNY Plattsburgh students $2 with ID at the door.

NCCCA hosts tree lighting, holiday sale, art show

PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Cultural Center for the Arts, with First Weekends, invites the public to kick off the holidays at the Arts Center on Dec. 6.

Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with a holiday sale and members’ holiday art show. There will be a children’s craft table, hot chocolate and sweets. The tree lighting will follow at 7 p.m.
