Youth Orchestra begins season Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — The Adirondack Youth Orchestra Association begins its 2012-13 season from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Myers Fine Arts Building, third floor, room 300, at Plattsburgh State.

There is a $10 discount for each multiple registration in a family. Registration forms and fees can be obtained at www.ayoa.org.

If the participant has a copy of their New York State School Music Association solo sheet, they should include it with the registration form or bring it with them on the first night. For those who do not have a copy of their scores, there will be placement seating auditions. Participants will be required to perform a brief solo for the conductors with a short excerpt demonstrating the player’s ability.

The program is made possible with public funds from the Decentralization Program of the New York State Council on the ARTS and is administered locally by the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts.
