North Country Skating Club ice show this weekend
The theme of its 31st-annual show is "One Hit Wonders," with performances to music of artists who had a brief claim to fame.

  • Who are you?
Burlington City Arts presents Abby Paige's one-woman show, "Piecework: When We Were French," at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center in Burlington.

  • Cold War artifacts sought
"Mutually Assured Destruction" is the title of the upcoming Cold War exhibit at the Clinton County Historical Museum. The museum is looking for artifacts for the show, which opens on Museum Day, June 5.

  • Drama, music, opera on tap in Montreal
The spring season includes a modernized version of the Shakespeare classic "The Comedy of Errors."

  • New 'Wonderland' imaginative, visually arresting
Tim Burton's direction — mixed with 3-D effects, Johnny Depp and computer animation — has turned the century-and-a-half-old story into an uneven but highly entertaining fairy tale unlike any previous screen version, says reviewer Steve Ouellette.

  • ArtsExpress: March 11, 2010
Donors needed for exhibit; Film produced to reach teens; Carving class offered; Music scholarship available; Mardi Gras seats available now; Auditions set for 'Blues in the Night'; Chorale seeks new members; Meadowmount names interim director; Grant winners announced; Ti Guild schedules summer events.

  • Something smashing
"Something Bold!" runs through March 11 at A Point of View Gallery in Lake Placid.

  • Knoedl, Rebello to star in Plattsburgh State musical
"How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" takes the stage tonight through Sunday.

  • The return of Big Spike
Big Spike Bluegrass performs 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Palmer Street Coffeehouse in Plattsburgh. Crossing North opens.

  • Montreal features top bands
Muse makes their first Bell Centre appearance March 10. Others performing in the city this spring and summer include Henry Rollins and Michael Buble.

  • 'The Crazies' is scary, fairly entertaining
The film bears more than a passing resemblance to the superior "28 Days Later," says reviewer Steve Ouellette, and it's nowhere near as good as the "Dawn of the Dead" remake and the best of the genre, but it gets the job done.
