CANTON — Amanda Gadway, the former Malone standout, qualified for the ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in the weight throw at the St. Lawrence University Invitational on Saturday.
Gadway, a junior, earned two second-place finishes in Plattsburgh State’s first indoor competition since Dec. 7.
The school record-holder in the weight throw, came in second Saturday with a toss of 14.72 meters. She also earned runner-up honors in the shot put with a throw 11.34 meters.
The Plattsburgh State women finished sixth with 37 points while St. Lawrence (179) and The College at Brockport (131) finished first and second respectively.
Also in the field events, freshman Caitilin McGhean was one of two to clear the 2.7-meter bar in the pole vault to finish in eighth place.
Freshman Taylor Baynham amassed 1,831 points in the pentathlon to finish seventh.
Sophomore Megan Schweizer came in fourth in the 1,000-meter run, in a time of 3:18.54.
Schweizer teamed with Christen Averill, Jasmine Boncore and Katie Ehmann to produce a fourth-place finish in the distance medley relay. The quartet finished the relay in a time of 13:25.48.
Freshman Rebecca Muschio raced to a sixth-place finish in the 500-meter dash. She completed the race in 1:29.64.
Ehmann (2:29.47) and Boncore (2:30.00) finished seventh and eighth respectively in the 800-meter run.
Baynham and Tatro joined up with Lauren Carlino and Eunice Osei-Boakye to finish eighth and grab four more team points in the 4x200-meter relay. They were clocked in a time of 1:58.06.
The final event of the day was the 4x400-meter relay, which saw Siry, Muschio, Rayanne Canet and Bryanna Mustapich finish fifth in a time of 4:25.77.
Jessop, Vinson lead men
The Plattsburgh State men’ team received a top-four finish in the 500-meter dash by sophomore Esa Jessop and a top-five finish in the mile run by freshman Ethan Vinson to earn a seventh place.
