Cardinals extend tennis win streak

JOHNSON, Vt. — The Plattsburgh State women’s tennis team continued its winning way Sunday with a 9-0 blanking of Johnson State in non-conference play.

Emily Carlin, Kaitlyn Healy, Olivia Wyand, Meghan Ryan, Sarah Drexinger and Jackie Ciriello all won their singles matches for the Cardinals (4-5), with the closest match being Carlin’s 7-6, 6-2 victory over Deanne Brandstettler at No. 1.

Plattsburgh also dominated the doubles competition, with the pairings of Carlin/Healy, Drexinger/Ciriello and Janel Waver/Allie Demeter all winning easily.

The loss dropped the Badgers to 1-8 on the season.

No. 5- Drexinger (PSU) def. Murphy, 6-1, 6-0.
