10 YEARS AGO (2002)

Kyle Jones, Matt Medeiros, Sarah Paul and Emily Medeiros lead the way as the Saranac Chiefs finish the CVAC season unbeaten in boys’ and girls’ cross-country.

Seton Catholic’s Rachelle DeCamp wins the all-around, while Plattsburgh High, led by Sheree Trudeau and Nadine Channaoui, claims the CVAC gymnastics title.

Aaron Hawksby scores twice, and Matt Clemons and Clint McCool each add a goal as Peru wraps up its first CVAC Div. I crown in boys’ soccer, beating Saranac Lake, 4-1.

Kaleen Kelleher scores and Debbie Davis stars on defense as PHS knocks off previously unbeaten Northeastern Clinton to win the CVAC Div. I girls’ soccer title.

Former Ticonderoga standout Jay Wells, a senior at Plattsburgh State, wins the SUNYAC men’s cross-country title by more than 13 seconds, finishing the 8-kilometer run in 25 minutes, 57.59 seconds.

Miguel Maldonado runs for a school-record 301 yards and five touchdowns in Plattsburgh High’s 37-0 victory over Saranac.

20 YEARS AGO (1992)

Chrissy Jaquis scores five goals in Tupper Lake’s 7-1 win over Moriah in girls’ soccer.

Lisa Scheller gets two goals as Lake Placid wraps up the MVAC Div. North title with a 4-2 win over Willsboro.

Tim Mack, making his first start at quarterback, throws a TD pass and makes a game-saving interception in the last two minutes of play to lead Saranac to a 7-6 win over AuSable Valley.

Jenn Tetreault and Lynn McGrath score in overtime to lift Northeastern Clinton to a 3-2 victory over Seton Catholic, giving the Cougars the CVAC Div. I title.

Sam Godfrey catches a screen pass from Craig Duprey and races 43 yards to score with 1:19 left to give Peru a 26-22 come-from-behind win over Ticonderoga.

25 YEARS AGO (1987)

Bambi Crowningshield scores four goals as Elizabethtown-Lewis rallies to beat Schroon Lake in overtime, 4-3.

Craig Douglass and Craig Mitchell run for scores and Chris Ford hits Darryl Lovely with a TD pass as AuSable Valley surprises PHS, 20-8.
