10 YEARS AGO (2003)

Clinton Community College freshman Krista Jubert leads NJCAA Div. III women’s soccer in points with 65 on 29 goals and 7 assists. Her total tops the previous CCC record of 64 set by Kaleen McCool during the 2001 season.

Elyse Bailey and Adam Scharf lead the Franklin Academy Huskies to a sweep of Chateaugay in soccer with the Malone girls winning 3-2 and the boys, 3-1.

Donny Coolidge, Chris McMillan and Mike Monty score touchdowns and Dave Boucher adds a 33-yard field goal in Plattsburgh High’s 23-7 victory over Beekmantown.

Nolan Ryan scores twice and Josh Friedrich and Justin Seymour once each to lead Chazy to a 4-0 win over Johnsburg in the MVAC boys’ soccer championship game.

Phoebe Clarke collects 3 goals and 2 assists to spark Willsboro to a 7-0 triumph over Minerva-Newcomb for the MVAC girls’ title.

Plattsburgh State assistant cross-country coach Eric Blake wins the Steamtown Marathon in Scranton, Pa. with a time of 2:21:24.

20 YEARS AGO (1993)

Jannette Ashe, Amy Carey, Kara Korpan and Nichole Purdy score as Keene wraps up the MVAC South girls’ soccer title with a 4-1 victory over Long Lake.

Chris Wheeler leads Ticonderoga to the Div. I title in the Burnt Hills cross-country Invitational. Teammates Joe Rutkowski, Jim Williams and Jay Wells also crack the top 6.

Kevin Manchester scores 3 goals and adds an assist to lead Clinton CC to an 11-0 rout of Finger Lakes CC. J.R. Harmon chips in with 2 goals while Alan Coffman contributes one goal and 2 assists.

Moriah’s Shontel Meachem sets a school diving record with a score of 327.50 in the Mid-Fall Classic.

25 YEARS AGO (1988)

Freshmen Reggie Behner of Ticonderoga and Patty McCormick of St. John’s finish first in the Third-Annual AuSable Valley cross-country Invitational.

Former Newcomb star Mary Jane Dillon scores 4 goals to lead Plattsburgh State past SUNY Potsdam 5-1 in women’s soccer.
