Morgan Davidson scores midway through the second overtime to give AuSable Valley a 2-1 win over NAC. Liz Bazzano also scores for the Patriots. Jamie Milne scores for the Bobcats who suffer their third straight overtime defeat.

Nate Johnston and Kristie LaBare account for the goals as Chateaugay sweeps Colton-Pierrepont, 1-0 and 2-0, in boys’ and girls’ soccer.

Noel Merrihew scores twice as Elizabethtown-Lewis deals previously unbeaten Chazy a 2-1 loss.

Matt Bezio throws for 249 yards and four touchdowns to lead Peru to a 51-22 victory over Saranac Lake, the Indians’ 18th straight victory.

20 YEARS AGO (1992)

Craig Duprey throws three touchdown passes and Levander Choplin runs back a kickoff 80 yards to score to lead Peru past Moriah, 40-28, in a battle of unbeatens. Chris Huchro runs for 151 yards and two touchdowns for the Vikings.

Joe Rockhill returns an interception 34 yards to score to help Malone to an 18-6 come-from-behind victory over Potsdam.

Heather Bush and Paula Lafountain score in overtime to give Crown Point a 2-1 win over Chazy in a battle of MVAC unbeatens.

Jason Cummings scores on runs of one and 76 yards during Seton Catholic’s first two drives, and the Knights go on to beat Tupper Lake, 21-0.

Jeremy Poirier, Jason Goodrow and Rick Hall lead the Malone boys to the Div. I title in the Malone Lions Invitational cross-country meet. Jim VanArman, Pat Larkin, Jesse Van Arman and Tom Szydlik lead Seton Catholic to the boys’ Div. II crown. Sara Facteau’s first-place finish paces Peru to the girls’ Div. I title. Eighth-grader Jen LaFleur of NCCS wins the Div. II race.

25 YEARS AGO (1987)

Kelly McDonald and Nicole Lapierre score goals as Chazy edges Crown Point, 2-1, in a battle of MVAC unbeatens. Kim Clarke scores for the Panthers.

John Boula accounts for all three goals as Clinton CC defeats the St. Lawrence University junior varsity, 3-0, to improve to 6-0 in men’s soccer.

Geoff Gagnier scores three times as reigning CVAC champion Northern Adirondack withstands Peru’s upset bid, 3-1. Brian McGovern scores for the Indians.

Nikki Filion opens and closes the scoring in Northeastern Clinton’s 4-1 upset of NAC. Becky Boire and Kim Barnes also score for the Cougars, while Missy Gadway, Sara Sample and Jen Dubuque are defensive standouts.

Mike Cleveland scores two goals in the second half to spur St. John’s on to a 4-0 victory over Northeastern Clinton.

Mark Haubner passes for 236 yards and two TDs to Scott Carpenter and Ward Mooney runs for two scores as PHS edges Moriah, 32-31. David Boucher rushes for 224 yards and four touchdowns for the Vikings.

Bob Dedrick runs for two touchdowns and passes to Terry Brannock for another as undefeated Ticonderoga, up 27-0 at one point, holds on to defeat Beekmantown, 34-27. Jeff Garrant throws three TD passes — two to Chris Hammond and one to Casey Silcock — to lead the Eagle comeback.

Russell Holland scores on a 29-yard fumble recovery and Jeff Jiampetti and Craig King add touchdowns in St. John’s 21-13 upset of previously unbeaten Peru. Travis Angevine runs for 155 yards and Chris Anderson scores twice for Peru.

Freshman Amy Gardner places fifth to lead St. John’s to a third-place finish in Class C at the Grout Invitational.

30 YEARS AGO (1982)

John O’Brien and Joe Trombley each score two goals as MAI knocks off previously unbeaten Plattsburgh High, 4-2.

Paul Lemza runs for 133 yards and two scores and also catches a TD toss from Bill McCabe to lead Moriah past Saranac, 24-6.

Tim Derrick, Dan Mannix and Wendy LaMarche turn in personal-bests to lead St. John’s to a cross-country sweep of PHS and MAI.

Eddie Merrens and Jeff Titherington score to give PHS a 2-0 victory over defending CVAC soccer champ St. John’s.

Mike Howard and Tracey DeFuria lead Saranac Lake to a sweep of Gouverneur in cross country.

Lisa Roach grabs three firsts, while Jen Smith, Missy Savage and Sherry Spear are all double winners for AuSable Valley in a 72-55 triumph over PHS in swimming. Ellen D’Aran is a three-time winner for the Hornets.

40 YEARS AGO (1972)

Mark Stone scores twice and Scott Keysor scores once as Clinton Community College defeats the SUNY Potsdam JV, 3-1, to snap a seven-game losing streak.

Randy Senecal blocks a punt and Glenn Fessette recovers to set up a John Corcoran TD plunge in the fourth quarter as Beekmantown upsets PHS, 7-6. Steve Oakley adds the game-winning PAT. Russ Keller scores for the Hornets, who miss their PAT try.

Jim Gilman, Glenn Petrashune, Tom Shutts and Bill Yasment score goals as NAC rallies from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Chazy, 4-3, in a battle of CVL soccer unbeatens. It’s the 16th straight win for the Bobcats.

Dave Olcott scores three goals and Jerry Dolly adds one with three assists to lead Elizabethtown-Lewis to a 6-1 thumping of Westport in an MVL showdown. Joe Shovan and Byron Couchey also score for the Lions.

Don Buck and John LaMare score on short runs to lead St. John’s past MAI, 13-0.

50 YEARS AGO (1962)

Bob Rabideau scores in the first overtime to lift Mooers to a 4-2 victory over Lyon Mountain. Don Duffina also scores for Mooers while Ron Chase accounts for the Miners’ goal.

Ralph Lashway’s goal lifts Altona to a 2-0 win over Ellenburg while Tom King scores twice in Dannemora’s 6-2 win over Saranac.

Larry French’s goal gives Crown Point a 2-0 win over Willsboro.

Ray Dubuque scores two touchdowns in Plattsburgh High’s 24-0 victory over AuSable Forks.

Richie Daul returns the opening kickoff 75 yards to score to set the tempo for OLVA’s 40-26 win over St. Mary’s of Ogdensburg. Daul adds another TD while Carl King hits Terry Polhemus with two scoring strikes.

60 YEARS AGO (1952)

William Agonier of Plattsburgh wins the Fourth-Annual Adirondack Riders Motorcycle Race, a 70-mile cross-country event from Wallace Hill to Kents Falls. Dan Sanger and Julius Pavone capture the next two places.

Tommy Mannix hits Jim Ryan on a 23-yard, fourth-down pass with 13 seconds remaining to give St. John’s a 14-12 upset of MAI. The Irish also pick up a safety and a two-yard TD plunge from Bob Ducatte. Clark Everleth and Bob Gload score for MAI.
