Northeastern Clinton's Scott Morrelli scores 3,509 points to repeat as state and federation champion in the pentathlon while Ticonderoga's Andrea Staepel wins the Class C/D 800 meters in 2:18.25 at the state track meet. Ti's Jay Wells (3,200) and Seton Catholic's Jason Jabaut (800) come in second.
Tupper Lake's Andrew Svoboda finishes eighth in the scholastic state golf championships.
Freshman Jessica Cross clubs a 2-run homer and RBI double to lift Elizabethtown-Lewis to a 6-5 win over Moriah in the Class D softball final.
Nikki Lopez's RBI single scores Stasia Robinson with the winning run as AuSable Valley edges Saranac 2-1 in the Class C title game.
Stacie Fessette raps an RBI triple and then scores on Trisha Lewis's infield single to give Beekmantown a 4-3 win over PHS for the Class B softball crown.
Matt Duquette's bases-loaded triple spurs PHS to a 10-5 win over Peru for the Class B baseball title.
Jon Curry and Tyler Murtha collect 3 hits apiece as NAC drubs AuSable Valley in the Class C final.
Jeff Ross rips a 2-run double to lift Crown Point to a 4-3 victory over Moriah for the Class D baseball crown.

Peru's Todd Furnia soars 22 feet, one-half inch to win the long jump while Ticonderoga's Kellie Grinnell doubles in the 400-meter hurdles and long jump in the CVAC individual championships.
Malone's Ann LaVeck breaks the Section X girls' record for the discus with a throw of 124 feet, 2 inches.
Eric Gibson pitches a 4-hitter with 7 strikeouts to send NAC to a 3-1 win over AuSable Valley in the Section VII Class C baseball final. Jeff Brown homers for the Patriots.
