Crown Point's Jody Harrington hurls a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and Adam Hulburt raps out 2 hits in a victory over Chazy in MVAC baseball.

Scott Sherman's sacrifice fly in the seventh inning lifts Westport to an 8-7 win over Elizabethtown-Lewis, snapping the Eagles' 36-game losing streak in baseball.

Northern Adirondack's Jeff Rock hurls a 2-hit shutout in outdueling Saranac Lake's Jim Daunais.

Former Saranac standout Seth Charles, a junior heavyweight at Cornell University, is named to the Second Team All-Ivy League in wrestling.

Dia Dufault goes 9-for-10 with 3 triples to lead Malone to a doubleheader sweep of Potsdam in softball.

Northeastern Clinton's Scott Morrelli sets an H.G. Moran Invitational record for the pentathlon with a score of 3,233 at Hudson Falls.

20 YEARS AGO (1988)

Hockey standout Joey Ferras and cross-country and track star Sue Hutchins are named Plattsburgh State Athletes of the Year.

Lake Placid native Ed Seney, 28, is named the first full-time hockey coach at SUNY Potsdam.

Lara Froehlich wins the long jump, triple jump, 100-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash to lead Peru to a season-opening victory over Plattsburgh High.

Winning pitcher Faith Miller helps her cause with 4 hits, including a 3-run homer, in Beekmantown's victory over AuSable Valley in softball.

25 YEARS AGO (1983)

Bucky Soda, Tammy Bardon and John Munson, Jr. of Plattsburgh qualify for the 25th-Annual New York State Coca-Cola Junior Singles Bowling Championships in Ithaca.
