Adirondack Bobsled Club has new champions
PLATTSBURGH — The Adirondack Bobsled Club has new champions — Hunter Church and George Miller, both rookies in the big sled.
They not only earned Outstanding Athlete awards, but the 2-man Red Devils bobsled team also bested coach and mentor Ken Kesterman and Mike Hagadorn. In a race scored on consistency on the coldest of nights and the slickest of tracks, Church matched himself, laying down two perfect runs with a .00 differential.
Kesterman was nearly perfect himself with a .01, beating out his nemesis, Carlton Glantz of Nazareth Pa., with a .02. Not far behind was 16-year-old Nicole Reisinger of Annapolis, Md. in .07.
Church and Miller are juniors at Saranac Central School and are varsity football players. Both Church and Miller received medals and awards provided by sponsors Lake City Choppers and Plattsburgh Distributing Inc. Kesterman, the ADK bobsled president, also garnered the gold in the Masters Division.
