OREN, Utah — Peru's Noah Phillips finished with a 2-3 record Tuesday and Wednesday at 128 pounds in Greco-Roman while earning All-America honors at the Schoolboy Nationals for wrestlers ages 12-14.
Phillips, 14, and his brother Tanner, a 12-year-old who wrestled at 98 pounds, competed in both the Greco-Roman and Freestyle.
Noah Phillips won his first two matches in Greco-Roman with a 7-0, 6-0 victory over Idaho's Ben Martinez and then a 4-0, 1-5, 6-4 win over South Carolina's Patrick James.
He then dropped a 1-4, 2-8 decision to Michigan's Shon Powell and lost by fall to Washington's John Reyes and Alaska's Josh Brown.
Still, Phillips ended up in sixth place, earning All-America honors.
Both Noah and Tanner Phillips qualified for the nationals at the Northeast Regional held in Binghamton in May.
