Westport golfers snap E'town-Lewis's streak
ELIZABETHTOWN -- A long winning streak in high school golf came to an end Friday.
Elizabethtown-Lewis, which had won 45 Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference matches in a row, fell to Westport, 5-1, at Cobble Hill Golf Course.
Nathan Gay and Spencer Mehr each shot a 44 for the Eagles and picked up wins, along with Johnny Mayr, Andrew Kuntz and Kyle Blemel.
Elizabethtown-Lewis, now 8-1, was minus starters Derrick and Joe Ratliff.
"Make no mistake, Westport played some solid golf today," said E'town-Lewis coach Steve Piatt. "And, to come in here on our own course and handle us was pretty impressive."
