Hornets overcome Tesar's ace
PORT HENRY -- There was good news for both the Plattsburgh High School and Moriah golf teams Friday.
The Hornets remained unbeaten in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference play with a 4.5-1.5 victory at the Moriah Country Club.
Meanwhile, Moriah sophomore Tom Tesar became the second high school golfer to get a hole-in-one this season when he aced the par-three, 140-yard third hole. Witnesses were teammate Landon Cross and PHS golfers Alex Pierce and Mark Pellerin.
Ryan Kirkpatrick was medalist with a one-over par 33 to lead the Hornets to victory. Ethan Votraw added a 34 and Pierce a 35 for PHS.
Phil Belzer, who lost the N. 1 match to Kirkpatrick by two strokes, was low man for the Vikings with a 35. Tesar ended up with a 42.
Kirkpatrick, Votraw, Pierce and Luke Short won their matches for PHS, while Tyler French had the lone win for the Vikings. The No. 4 match between Cross and Pellerin was halved.

Peru 5, NCCS 1
PERU -- Keegan O'Hara was medalist with a 40 at Adirondack Golf & Country Club to lead the Indians (4-1) past Northeastern Clinton.
Tyler Hoey added a 43 for Peru, while Ryan Miller and Matt Johnson each contributed a 44. O'Hara, Hoey, Miller, Johnson and Sean Harrigan won their matches.
Cody O'Brian was low man for the Cougars with a 42 and Stephen Young added a 46. Nolan Reid won his match for NCCS.
