PERU -- Dominic Rainey was a three-time winner as Peru used its depth to upend Plattsburgh High, 65-61, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys track & field action Tuesday.
Rainey won the shot put, discus and ran the opening leg of the Indians' victorious 400-meter relay.
Peru (2-1) won only five of 16 events.
"Our supporting cast really won this meet for us," Peru coach Mike Francia said. "I am so excited for our team. This is a big win for us.
"Dominic did a tremendous job leading us in the field events, but we had a lot of second and thirds to get us the points to win the meet."
Brandon Dunham, Ray Cintron and Ethan Crockett were triple winners for the Hornets (2-2).
On the girls' side, Alexis Harrington captured the long jump and triple jump to lead the Hornets to a 76½-54½ win.
Rachel Danis and Justine Bardelcik were three-time winners for Peru (1-2).

BEEKMANTOWN -- Mike Moran became the first shot-putter in the area to go over 50 feet this spring while Brendan Courneene won a stirring battle with Northeastern Clinton's Nick Barcomb in the 1,600 meters to lead the Beekmantown boys (3-0).
Brian Drollette and Jeff Stitt were four-time winners for the Eagles while Josh Garren, Eric LaValley and Nick Trombley all were triple winners.
The Beekmantown girls (3-0), led by triple-winners Hannah Constanty, Stephanie Clookey and Victoria Rodarte, won convincingly.
Seventh-grader Molly Roush set a Northeastern Clinton school record of 2:24.5 for the 800 meters.Roush bettered the old mark of 2:25.6 set by Michelle Gaudreau in 2003.

SARANAC LAKE -- It was the Nate Williams-Ben Depo show in Saranac Lake as the junior standouts won seven events between them to lead the Saranac boys (3-1) to victory.
Not to be outdone, Jason Pageau lowered his school record for the 400-meter hurdles by almost a second with a time of 58.1 seconds.
Carol Fessette swept the throws and joined Leanne Raudenbush, Katie McIntosh and Kristie Pageau as double-winners to lead the Saranac girls (4-0).

CLINTONVILLE -- Mary Kate Champagne won the 800 and 1,600 meters and anchored the 3,200-meter relay team to victory to lead the Knights (3-1) past AuSable (1-2).
Hannah O'Toole won three events for AuSable.
On the boys' side, Michael Champagne was a three-time winner to lead Seton Catholic (3-1).
James Montefusco was a four-time winner for the Patriots (0-3).
The names of three Seton Catholic athletes who placed in the top 10 at the Queensbury Invitational Saturday were omitted from Sunday's account.
Michael Champagne came in fourth in the boys' 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:13.77 while Alexa Cosgro was ninth in the girls' 2,000-meter steeplechase with an 8:05.14 time. Genna Hartung came in 10th in the girls' 3,000-meter run in 10:55.01.
