Peru boys outrun PHS
PERU -- Dominic Rainey was a three-time winner as Peru used its depth to upend Plattsburgh High, 65-61, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys track & field action Tuesday.
Rainey won the shot put, discus and ran the opening leg of the Indians' victorious 400-meter relay.
Peru (2-1) won only five of 16 events.
"Our supporting cast really won this meet for us," Peru coach Mike Francia said. "I am so excited for our team. This is a big win for us.
"Dominic did a tremendous job leading us in the field events, but we had a lot of second and thirds to get us the points to win the meet."

On the girls' side, Alexis Harrington captured the long jump and triple jump to lead the Hornets to a 76½-54½ win.
