Jonalee Ross heads the list of 2008 Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference Softball All-Stars. Ross, a senior pitcher for Crown Point, was selected Most Valuable Player.

The right-hander went 16-1 this season and threw two no-hitters. In 83 innings, she struck out 110 and walked 50. Ross led the Panthers to two straight Section VII titles and never lost a league or sectional game in that span.

Ross' Crown Point teammates Jordan McGinness and Jessica Potter were both named First-Team All-Stars. McGinness pitched and played right field for the Panthers. The senior struck out 24 and walked none in 10 innings, giving up just two runs and three hits. McGinness batted .462 and led the team with 19 RBI. Her 18 hits included three home runs.

Potter, a sophomore catcher, used her strong arm to keep runners from stealing bases. She batted .486 with 18 hits and 12 RBI. Potter also played second base and shortstop.

Willsboro's Codia Holland and Stephanie Marcotte also made the First Team. Holland pitched and caught for the Warriors. She hit .555 on the season and was a strong player both offensively and defensively.

The versatile Marcotte played every position except catcher. She displayed excellent defense in the outfield and also showed good sportsmanship.
