CROWN POINT -- Crown Point went on the offensive Thursday afternoon and when the dust settled, the Panthers had wrapped up their seventh Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference Northern Division softball championship in eight years.
The Panthers (12-4, 10-1) rapped out 22 hits on their way to a 30-1 thrashing of Elizabethtown-Lewis. The win clinched Crown Point's sixth consecutive division title.
Winning pitcher Jordan McGinness helped her cause with three hits and six runs-batted-in. Ashley Zapolski went 3-for-3 with two RBI while Britney Peters was 2-for-3 and Jessica Potter added a three-run double.
McGinness allowed only one hit -- a fourth-inning single to Kristin Jacques -- while striking out seven and walking none over four innings. Jonalee Ross struck out four and didn't walk a batter over the last three innings.

KEENE 8, WILLSBORO 2
KEENE VALLEY --Alicia Ashe drilled a three-run home run in the fifth inning to lead Keene past Willsboro.
Michelle Sardella, Louisa Sardella and Brooke Hartson all had two hits for Keene (7-3, 6-3). Summer Reed added a triple and Courtney Collette a double for the Beavers.
Codia Holland paced the Willsboro offense with a 3-for-3 outing. Ashley Sherman and Briana Reynolds added two hits for the Warriors (4-3, 4-3). Denice Lindsay contributed a triple.

Chazy 18, Westport 12
CHAZY -- Chazy took advantage of 17 walks from a trio of Westport pitchers to improve to 4-5.
Westport took an 8-7 lead in the top of the fourth only to have the Eagles answer with six runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Winning pitcher Lindsey Seymour drove in two runs in the inning. Sinead Cooper and Devin Latremore also drove in runs in the frame.
Chazy tacked on five more runs in the fifth.
K.C. Olds had three of the Eagles' eight hits.
Karlee Vaughn led Westport with three hits, while Alicia Hathaway and Stephanie Stevens added two apiece. Kalika Hopkins added a home run.

Tupper Lake 7
GOUVERNEUR -- Sam Sanford went 4-for-4 with a double for Tupper Lake, but the Lumberjacks fell to Gouverneur, 10-7, in Northern Athletic Conference softball.
Sanford pitched the complete game for Tupper Lake. Amber Lawyer hit a double and a single, and Liz Tvorak singled twice.
