It's Panthers again in North
CROWN POINT -- Crown Point went on the offensive Thursday afternoon and when the dust settled, the Panthers had wrapped up their seventh Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference Northern Division softball championship in eight years.
The Panthers (12-4, 10-1) rapped out 22 hits on their way to a 30-1 thrashing of Elizabethtown-Lewis. The win clinched Crown Point's sixth consecutive division title.
Winning pitcher Jordan McGinness helped her cause with three hits and six runs-batted-in. Ashley Zapolski went 3-for-3 with two RBI while Britney Peters was 2-for-3 and Jessica Potter added a three-run double.
McGinness allowed only one hit -- a fourth-inning single to Kristin Jacques -- while striking out seven and walking none over four innings. Jonalee Ross struck out four and didn't walk a batter over the last three innings.

KEENE 8, WILLSBORO 2
KEENE VALLEY --Alicia Ashe drilled a three-run home run in the fifth inning to lead Keene past Willsboro.
Michelle Sardella, Louisa Sardella and Brooke Hartson all had two hits for Keene (7-3, 6-3). Summer Reed added a triple and Courtney Collette a double for the Beavers.
Codia Holland paced the Willsboro offense with a 3-for-3 outing. Ashley Sherman and Briana Reynolds added two hits for the Warriors (4-3, 4-3). Denice Lindsay contributed a triple.
