Panthers go on the attack
CROWN POINT -- Ala Terentyeva, Ashley Zapolski and Hope Lacey each had two-run homers to lead the Crown Point Panthers to a 15-4 victory over the Keene Central Beavers Tuesday in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference softball.
The bats were alive for Crown Point as Trisha Lacey went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Paige Dolback went 2-for-4 with two doubles and Jordan McGinness went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Zapolski also had a double, and Lacey added a double and three RBI for the Panthers (9-1).
Crown Point broke it open with an eight-run third inning.
Jonalee Ross went five strong innings, striking out seven and walking one in picking up the win for Crown Point.
Carrie Shackett took the loss for Keene (5-3), striking out three and walking one.

WESTPORT -- Ashley Whitty smacked two doubles to help power the Wildcats, who took a commanding lead with a 10-run second inning.
Whitty finished with three hits, and Lindsey Morrissey and Kiersten Langabeer each had two for Schroon Lake (2-5, 2-5).
Savannah Clark struck out three and walked seven for the win.
Stephanie Stevens had three hits for Westport (1-9, 1-7), and Karlee Vaughn played tough defense at shortstop.
