Wildcats recover from twin setbacks
SCHROON LAKE -- Freshman Wesley Beers had a stellar day coming up a double short of the cycle as Schroon Lake defeated Westport 11-9 in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference baseball.
Beers, had a single, triple and a homerun to lead the scoring for the Wildcats. Ethan Tyrell had three runs scored and had a double and a triple for Schroon Lake (7-3). George Egan scored three times, Kyle Bush had a single and two doubles for the Wildcats.
Tarri Haina pitched four strong innings striking out five.
Michael Tyler and Zach Sherman each hit a pair of singles for the Eagles. The pitchers for Westport (4-7) combined for seven strikeouts on the game.

Crown Point 14, Keene 3
KEENE VALLEY -- Nathan Tabor went the distance striking out 11 and walking one as the Panthers remained undefeated knocking off the Eagles 14-3.
Travis Tabor had two hits including a triple with three RBI, Kevin Gadway had a bases clearing single, Mark Ashline had three hits and an RBI, Jacob Spring had two hits and two RBI, and Mack Kiely had three hits for Crown Point (12-0).
Keith Wadsworth had two singles, Jake Earl and Andrew Murphy each had a double for Keene. Ian Hall took the loss for the Eagles (3-6).
