Red Storm sweeps over NAC
SARANAC LAKE -- Tyler Randig struck out 11 batters and Chris Mayville drilled a pair of doubles to lead Saranac Lake to a 5-2 win over Northern Adirondack in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference baseball action Monday.
With Saranac Lake leading 2-0 in the fourth inning, Dalton DeMarco single and Randig followed with a double to put runners on second and third. With two out, Mayville hit his second double of the game to score both runners.
Northern Adirondack tallied two runs in the sixth on back-to-back doubles by Tom Page and Andy McDonald.
DeMarco led the Red Storm (2-7) with three hits, while Mayville and Randig finished with two hits apiece.
Mitch Rowe suffered the mound loss hurling a complete-game with seven strikeouts. Brad Petrashune paced the Bobcats with two hits.

PLATTSBURGH -- Joe Kirkpatrick struck out 11, walked three and surrendered four hits in pitching the Hornets past the Vikings.
Kirkpatrick also had a big day at the plate, going four-for-four, including a double, triple and three RBI.
Plattsburgh, leading 4-0 after three, scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to break it open.
